Organized 13 January 1776 from Kent, Sussex and New Castle counties.
Entered Valley Forge in May 1778 with 321 men assigned and 203 fit for duty.
Left Valley Forge with 360 assigned and 211 fit for duty.
Previous engagements: Chesapeake Bay, New York City, Northern New Jersey, Trenton-Princeton, New York 1777, Defense of Philadelphia, Philadelphia-Monmouth
