Organized February 1776 at Alexandria and Dumfries from Prince William, Fouquier, Stafford, Louisa, Fairfax, King George, Loudoun and Culpepper Counties.
Entered Valley Forge with 309 assigned, 71 fit for duty.
Left Valley Forge with 216 assigned, 121 fit for duty.
Previous engagements: Chespeake Bay, New York City, Northern New Jersey, Trenton-Princeton, Defense of Philadeplphia, Philadelphia-Monmouth
